Current state of legislation in South AfricaIn August this year the Small Business Project (SBP), a longstanding think tank partner of the Friedrich Naumann Foudation for Liberty, published an "SBP Alert" bearing the title "Current state of legislation in South Africa". It points out the problematic nature of legislation being approved by parliament.
Furthermore, SBP illustrates how the poor quality of legislation is a massive hindrance to achieving a vibrant business sector and thus economic growth. Ultimately, therefore, bad law is one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of tackling unemployment, South Africa’s seminal problem.
