By public transport from Berlin

Ticket

you need a BVG (Berlin Public Transport Organization) ticket for the ABC tariff zone. If you plan to return to Berlin on the same day we recommend a day ticket, which allows an unlimited amount of journeys to be taken in one day. Tickets can be purchased in vending machines located in all S-, and U-Bahn train stations and also in buses. The ticket must be devalued in a bus or at a train station. You can also get a free map of all S-and U-Bahn lines in Berlin, at the train stations.

With the S7 (heading to Potsdam Hbf - main station, exit at Griebnitzsee station)

The S7 will directly take you to Griebnitzsee station, from any station of the city rail (e.g., Ostbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Zoologischer Garten, Charlottenburg).

Once you arrive at Griebnitzsee station, please use the left exit, taking you into the Rudolf- Breitscheid-Street. Then turn left and follow the sidewalk on the opposite side until you reach Karl-Marx-Street. The second house on the right side is the Truman House (about a 300 m walk).

With the S1 (To Wannsee station)

The S1 stops at the stations Friedrichstrasse, Unter den Linden, Potsdamer Platz, etc. Take the S1 until you reach the Wannsee stop.

Get out at the S-Bahn station Wannsee and transfer to the S7 towards Potsdam (on the same platform). Leave the S-Bahn at the Griebnitzsee station, and take the left exit, leading you into the Rudolf Breitscheid Street. Then turn left and follow the sidewalk on the opposite side until you reach Karl-Marx-Street. The second house on the right side is the Truman House (about a 300 m walk).

With the regional trains RE1 and RE7 (heading to Magedeburg, Brandenburg, Dessau)

The regional express lines RE1 and RE7 stop at the stations Ostbahnhof and Alexanderplatz. Take them until you reach Wannsee station.

From there take the S7 towards Potsdam. Leave the S-Bahn at the Griebnitzsee station, and take the left exit, leading you into the Rudolf Breitscheid Street. Then turn left and follow the sidewalk on the opposite side until you reach Karl-Marx-Street. The second house on the right side is the Truman House (about a 300 m walk).

To Potsdam from Tegel airport with the public transport system

We recommend using the public transport system, in order to get to Potsdam-Babelsberg from the Tegel airport. The trains usually arrive every 5 or 10 minutes. The journey takes about 60 minutes. A BVG sales and information office is located in the main hall behind the information desk.

Use the 109 bus. Its stop is located on the far left in the airport’s main exit area. The individual stops are displayed inside the buses and trains; a bus stop is requested by pressing a button. Get off the bus at the Charlottenburg stop. Cross the Stuttgarter Platz in driving direction. After having crossed the square you will have reached the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station.

Transfer into S-Bahn line 7 heading to Potsdam.

Leave the S-Bahn at the Griebnitzsee station, and take the left exit.

You will have entered into the Rudolf Breitscheid Street. Then turn left and follow the sidewalk on the opposite side until you reach Karl-Marx-Street. The second house on the right side is the Truman House (about a 300 m walk).

From airport Schönefeld to Potsdam by public transport

There are two possible options; either use the regional train RE7 heading to Belzig / Dessau and transfer to the S-Bahn line 7 toward Potsdam, at the Wannsee station, and take it until Griebnitzsee. Or take the regional train Ri until Potsdam Hauptbahnhof and then take the S7-Bahn line 7 heading to Ahrensfelde and get off at Griebnitzsee.
